Mostly bad diodes read 0V or shorted, sometimes it will be open or exceed the voltage drop across pins or the anode and the cathode.
How to test or check a Bad Diode - Diode testing

Diode commonly in radial package or in two pins configuration, the +
Anode & - Cathode. In measuring the voltage drop of a good silicon
diode always have .7V approximate " forward bias " reading using diode
test selected in digital multimeter and .3V for a germanium composed
diode.
Mostly bad diodes read 0V or shorted, sometimes it will be open or exceed the voltage drop across pins or the anode and the cathode.
