PCB Board Repair - Tools and Materials Guide

1. WorkStation 

   - Secure a ESD " Electrostatics Sensetive Device " to prevent unwanted damage to sensitive electronic parts such us : IC's... Is it recommend to install a device that monitor " ESD " that alarms when there is a wrist strap or ESD mat that is disconnected to Ground or having a resistance to ground. Work station should have a good lighting & with enough space to populate some soldering / disoldering tools like soldiring iron, Hot Air, or BGA removal/installation equiptment.

2. Soldering Iron & accessories

- Soldering Iron is the primary tool in the work station, It is recommended to know the right temperature setting when using the soldering iron in different PCB type. Old PCB's our mostly prone to burnt when temperature settings in soldering iron is too high so maintain it " 350°C to 370°C" ..

3. Hot Air " for SMT installation & Removal "& accessories

- Use for surface mounted devices removal, etc.. 

4. Desoldering Gun & accessories

- Use for desoldering through hole parts & others.

5.BGA removal & installation equipment

- Use for BGA component removal & installation.

6. Fume Extractor 

- need to extract fumes form melting leads, which is dangerous to your health .

7.Twizzer, Clamp, IC extractor, & magnifying Glass or better Microscope

- This accessories use to help the removal, installation and inspection on the board.

8. ESD Bins 

- Used for part or component storage.

9. Safety Gears

- Used to protect the technician or the rework person in dealing with the equipments.
